When we think of baptism we may often think of gathering in a Church surrounded by friends and family to celebrate a new birth but it can be more than this.
We may have just paused for breath after the Christmas with the recently faded memories of the crib scene, cards, celebrations and presents. In the Gospel reading this week the Christmas season feels long gone in that we hear the account of Jesus’ Baptism. This marked the start of his public life and mission, a new beginning and fulfilment of God’s plan for Him.
As we start 2016 maybe this is the challenge for us too. We need to be willing and open to the possibility that we can embrace change and opportunity. I believe education and leadership are both about this willingness to learn and change each and every day in some way.
So in this time for new resolutions I hope you have the opportunity to embrace new beginnings and a life of faith in some way. Have a great year ahead…
